The thoughts of composer Peter Knockaert on his work “Solitudo”

*"Solitudo" is a work I dedicated to my dear friend Margo. Margo experienced the horrific process of cancer—from diagnosis to the difficult battle that had to be overcome, both physically and mentally.

The composition, written in the style of a chorale, reflects the various moments of doubt, hope, and acceptance that accompany this process. It is often a lonely journey, trying to mentally put everything into its proper place. Yet it is not only those affected themselves who suffer under this burden, but also many people around them.

Nevertheless, Margo showed me that—even in the darkest moments—you have to see the beautiful things in life: the little things that bring joy. This realization touched and inspired me deeply. This is how "Solitudo" came about—as an expression of this emotional journey and the unshakeable strength that Margo carries within herself.*
