Saxpack was composed by Otto M. Schwarz for the 100th anniversary of the Vienna Police Band . One of Austria's most distinguished saxophonists, Gert Kolaja , plays in this professional orchestra.

The work is conceived as a fully composed "crime thriller " for wind orchestra, with musical scenes ranging from chases to "Vienna by Night ." Schwarz's aim was to expand the genre of wind orchestra literature through new tonal and stylistic aspects.

Saxpack is designed in a modern style and offers a variety of playing techniques for the saxophone :
