Collection: Hermann Pallhuber
Prof. Hermann Pallhuber received his musical training at the conservatories in Innsbruck and Vienna, as well as at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and Innsbruck. After several years working as a teacher and conductor, he continued his studies at the music academies in Zurich and Augsburg, where he completed an artistic diploma in conducting, with a focus on wind orchestra conducting and instrumentation.
He has conducted numerous professional and semi-professional wind ensembles, including Brass Band Tirol, the Symphonic Wind Orchestra Innsbruck-Land, the Tyrolean Wind Philharmonic, and Symphonic Winds Tyrol, and from 2001 to 2016 he produced and presented wind music broadcasts for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). Internationally, Pallhuber is active as a guest conductor, juror, and lecturer. A particular highlight of his career was his work Titan’s Progress, which, after receiving the Award Testpiece of the Year 2009 at the British Open in Birmingham, was also selected in 2019 as the compulsory test piece for the 20 leading British brass bands at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Since 2009, he has taught at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, and since 2013 as an adjunct professor. In addition, he has been teaching wind orchestra conducting at the Tyrolean State Conservatory since 2011. In 2016, he accepted a professorship in conducting and wind orchestra conducting at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.
Since 2023, Hermann Pallhuber has been a composer with Symphonic Dimensions Publishing.
