Susanne Zabl, one of the few female composers in the field of symphonic wind music, creates an acoustic image of urban densification with Steel Thunder. Rhythmic motifs, metallic sounds, and the use of steel drums evoke the soundscape of a large construction site – loud, restless, and powerful.

Between hammering and droning, a quiet, reflective moment emerges: a vibraphone solo is reminiscent of the nature that had to yield to this progress. But the calm doesn't last – the machines awaken again, and the relentless rhythm of change returns.
