Collection: Matthias K. Weber
Matthias K. Weber has been accompanied by music since childhood: at the age of nine he began playing the trumpet, shortly thereafter adding the piano as a second instrument. He decided to pursue music professionally during his school years at BORG Krems, where his enthusiasm for jazz and popular music grew. At 17, he became a member of the newly founded Lower Austrian Youth Jazz Orchestra, further deepening his love for big band music.
After completing his secondary education (Matura), Weber completed his compulsory military service with the Lower Austrian Military Band. There, his passion for wind music—especially symphonic wind music—was rekindled, and during this time he wrote his first works for wind orchestra.
At the same time, Weber devoted himself intensively to his main instrument, the trumpet, performing in numerous bands and projects, including the Powerkryner, with appearances on major festival and television stages such as Woodstock der Blasmusik and New Year’s Eve at the Brandenburg Gate. He also founded his own big band, the Big.Matt.Band, for which he has already composed and arranged two complete programs.
Another professional pillar of his career is sound engineering. In 2017, Weber founded his company Soundsense, offering both live sound services and studio recordings. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, his focus has increasingly shifted toward studio work, where he is able to combine his experience as a sound engineer, musician, and composer.
Since 2025, Matthias K. Weber has been a composer with Symphonic Dimensions Publishing.
